Community Bank Fremantle

You may not think that who you bank with matters. But it does. For our customers, their banking is making a real difference in our community.

Since commencing operations in 2006 the Community Bank Fremantle has invested over $1.8 million in supporting local community groups, projects, events, schools, sporting clubs and arts initiative in Fremantle and surrounds.

Every day our customers help support the Cockburn Wetlands Centre, the Sunday Music program, a breakfast program at Fremantle College, the Girls Festival of Community Soccer, men and women’s football, St Patrick’s Long Table for the homeless and many other sporting and cultural activities.

Fremantle Community Financial Services Ltd

Fremantle Community Financial Services Ltd (FCFS) owns and operates the Fremantle Community Bank. FCFS is a social enterprise that uses a banking service provided through a franchise arrangement with Bendigo and Adelaide Bank to return profits to the Fremantle Community.

Established in 2006 by a group of Fremantle locals, FCFS has over 230 local shareholders who have agreed that up to 80% of the company’s profits can be used to support local community initiatives. The other 20% is paid as annual dividends to our shareholders. FCFS is listed and shares can be bought and sold on the National Stock Exchange (NSX).

FCFS is governed by a Board of volunteer Directors and the banking operation is overseen and governed by Bendigo Bank through their banking license.
